Listing the bars of Pattaya The following reviews are those that I come across on the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own visits. Reviewers may be
unreasonably harsh and bar owners may present a rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at face value...go and see for yourself. If anyone would like to add a review or information please email Dave at

Notes, Jan 2010: Prices Bottled beer up to 90 Baht.
Review from Pattaya Rag , Oct 2007:
Massive Stable Amazing Paradise Bar has a massive stable of girls and flat screen TVs. Not sure which there was more of.... The majority of lookers were pulling punters in from the street and sadly that's what they
continued to do once we were in the bar. Company in the bar was provided by a more mature group of ladies. We managed to grab the sofas by the entrance and it was a good vantage point for watching the girls out front and the girls passing by. Don't want to appear fussy but I would rate only 3 or 4 of the girls as being worthy of my dosh.

Moving Aussie Bar, currently on Soi 8 has announced that it will be relocating to the newly rebuilt beer bar complex on the soi connecting Soi 7 and Soi 8

Review from Pattaya-Live Jan 2010: One of the Better Open Bars A busy bar and so are a few of the bars either side of it. It has
quite a few girls in the bar, probably around 20, some good lookers amongst them. A no hassle bar in terms of lady drinks . Good afternoon happy hour prices, but the place doesn't really come alive until the evening when the girls come on duty.
Happy hour prices 45 Baht for bottle of Singha. One of the better open air bars in town.
Review from Pattaya-Live May 2008: Good prices and friendly
girls The girls there are always friendly and enjoy just playing the games and trying to entice a farang to take them home. They are however choosy and the mama does not pressure them to leave with anyone. Good prices and friendly
girls what more is there to ask for?
Review July 2006: Watching Out For Own Goals I randomly selected the bar for a bit of World Cup viewing. I chatted a while to a friendly Australian but he departed in search of
an Australian Rules football match rather than the World Cup. England were being a little boring so I opted for a bit of people watching. The girls seemed to be enjoying themselves watching the game, chatting or playing the dice game behind the
bar. They were a distinctly average crew but there were four decent looking girls that were posted as welcome girls. I spent some time looking out for some potential customers to walk past and to be 'welcomed in'. I was wondering whether the
attractive welcome girls would pair off with the newcomer or whether the newcomer would just be dumped with the average girls behind the bar. (And then he would, no doubt, take one beer and leave pronto). My theory will have to wait for another
day though...there simply were no customers to be seen. When it started raining cats & dogs I had to abandon the research and return to the strikerless England display.

Bier Stuble Pattaya Soi 7 Restaurant and bar that has an annual closure period in low season. Note from Dick Farang,
January 2016: Noisy When eating at Bier Stüble you can 'enjoy' blaring music from both sides: Bailey's and Silver Star 2 A-GoGo.
Review from Dick Farang, November 2014: Cosy
One of my favourite restaurants in Pattaya is German owned and long established Bier Stüble on Soi 7. (Bier means beer and Stüble is a diminutive of Stube , a cosy room; " herein in die gute Stube "
means something like "welcome to my place"). With a bit of luck you can hear the "beat" of their neighbours Silver Star 2 A-GoGo. They have excellent soups, such as Linsensuppe (German
style, not Indian or Arab style, green lentil soup), Nudelsuppe (German style, not Thai style, noodle soup with scrambled eggs) and Leberknödelsuppe (liver dumpling soup), a typical Bavarian dish. Among their main dishes are
Sauerbraten (marinated, braised beef) with Rotkohl (red cabbage) or salad and Spätzle (typical egg and flour noodles) or potatoes, and Kaßler (slightly smoked, slightly brined, steamed pork loin) with Sauerkraut (fermented white cabbage) and mashed
potatoes. If you order Sauerbraten the waitresses will ask you what you want it with; they have a strange way of pronouncing the word Rotkohl . Do not hesitate to ask mustard with the Kaßler .
Note that this restaurant is closed in low season for about three and a half months. The owner leaves for Europe in the second half of May and comes back to Pattaya in the first half of September. The staff are
a very friendly bunch. Bottled Heineken 80 baht, German beers 110-200 baht, soups 110-120 baht, Kaßler 220 baht, Sauerbraten 250 baht. |

Cherry Bar Soi Diana Inn (Between Megabreak and Papagayo) Beer bar The owner reports about the trials and tribulations of running a
bar on the Pattaya forums under the board name Hammer. The Bar complex was redeveloped from May to July 2008. Moved to Soi Diana in September 2012. And is still going strong in August 2022. News September 2012: A New Cherry
Citing a declining walk by trade in Soi 8 and a inclining rent, Adam of Cherry Bar has decided to upsticks and move to Soi Diana. So Cherry Bar is now located in the clutch of beer bars between Megabreak Pool and Papagayo. Adam has
always earned a good trade via proactive contribution to Pattaya nightlife and Pattaya forums and should do well in the upcoming Soi Buakhao area.
March 2006: Popular Host Hammer seems a very popular host, many
reports of useful assistance to newbies and the bar is well established as the meeting/starting point of many a Pattaya bar crawl. The bar seems lively and successful enough probably assisted by visitors from PattayaTalk. Certainly overshadows
neighbouring bars.

Baht bar fine and 200 Baht lady drinks. 120 Baht for Heineken and 220 Baht for a Corona and lots of Thai guys to sort out any bill disputes.

Cocktail Bar Pattaya Klang (Central road opposite Tops supermarket) Unkempt Quite a large bar with a rather unkempt feel. It is
not far from the Soi 7/8 bar area buts its location overlooking a supermarket is not exactly glamourous. Not really much to say about the bar. It was sparsely populated with average bar girls who seemed to be mostly intent on their own eating
rituals.
| Cocktail Hut Pattaya Soi 8 (beach end) Beer bar opened September 2006 Very small
place but very friendly. Cocktails at 69 Baht and beer at 49 Baht | Coconuts Pattaya Soi 8 Shophouse bar closed. Now Family Best |
Coral Reef Bar Pattaya Soi 8 Beer bar News, February 2014: Closing It seems that the bar has been
solved and the Coral Reef will be no more
Review from Pattaya-Live , February 2009: Friendly Bar It's a friendly bar run by Phil who
I think has had the bar for about 14 years. The bar has a few ex-pat regulars who are normally a friendly bunch. Also the bar has a number of holidaymakers who make it there regular when they are in town.
June 2006: My Place
You could do worse than pop down my place. The Coral Reef bar opposite the Sunshine hotel. Decent 70's/80's music, friendly staff and a decent bunch of lads, both holiday makers and expats. No air con, sorry but plenty of fans and a
good view of the nightly parade up and down the soi!!

Dennis the Menace Bar Pattaya Soi 7 (near 2nd Road) Beer bar, recently relocated to the other side of the soi Review
from Pattaya-Addicts , July 2009: Cheap Drinks The Dennis The Menace bar is good, big screen for watching sport and cheap drinks. Liam the manageress
is really nice.
Review by Nightmarch, January 2006: Cleaner and Fresher The Dennis The Menace beer boozer is certainly cleaner and fresher than most of its rivals in Fun Town and offers a good happy hour.
Their advertising says 'Campanologists welcome'. Yes, I had to look up the word as well: it means bell ringers. High season usually has plenty of two-week millionaires prepared to turn campanologist with very little urging, so Dennis and his damsels
should be doing OK.
| Didi's Bar Pattaya Klang (Near Beach Road) German owned beer bar popular with the lady boys. Closed in May 2011 |
Dom's Bar Pattaya Soi 7 Beer Bar Recommended to me by a Thai monk who's brother runs the bar. I found it reasonably civilised without
quite so many calls of 'welcome hansum man' etc. Perhaps a good location for a quiet game of pool. Dom's Bar is split into three sections: there's the bar itself. A couple of regular-sized TVs are always on, usually showing sport. There are about 8
girls in attendance
The second section comprises of two pool tables at 20 baht a game. The girls are always happy to beat you hollow.
The final section is a lounge featuring wicker chairs. |

Five Star Bar Beach Road (Near Mike's large mall) Beer bar Review from Pattaya Secrets , Jan 2009: Eternal Welcome
Good girls and lots of good music. The owner still comes over and says hello every time I go back whether it 6 months a year or 18 months, never ever forgets you.
March 2006: My fave bar is the 5
Star, Beach Rd and soi 10 by Mikes Shopping Mall. Friendly girls, great sound system, and one of the best views. Mama is always cooking something to feed you and she will ring the bell.
January 2006: A popular bar
at the end of the walk along the Beach Road street market stalls. Before the starting on the return leg one can partake in a reasonably priced drink. The bar seems to have connections with the US military and also with bikers. The mementos and
photos and the walls demonstrate this affiliation.

Expended in August 2019 to take over defunct bar door. Review by Lindsay, Aug 2007: Happiness is a Cold Towel On my last trip to Pattaya I drank most days (during the afternoon) at Happiness Star bar in Soi 7. Having
stopped originally just for a quick beer the staff were very friendly and not at all pushy just ensured that I had a good time. On my daily return they remembered my name and continued with their friendly attitude. Several could speak good English
which helped. The beer was cold, the prices friendly and I noticed that they were the only bar that offered me cold face towel this trip. Last year and prior years most bars the towel was the first thing offered after you had ordered a drink.
Maybe times are tough for the bar business and cost saving policies are in place. Hope happiness Star bar keeps the good work up.

Hard Rock Cafe Beach Road 429 Moo 9 (south of Soi 6) Bar and Restaurant with dancing. Opened a bar called Soul Lounge in February 2012. Be aware
that beers, apart from Singha, are simply extortion. 330 Baht for a small bottle of Heineken was reported in November 2007. From Hard Rock Cafe, April 2012: Powerjam The new house band at the Hard Rock Cafe is
Powerjam. They are a 6 piece band from the Philippines that have been performing since 1996.
Prices from Pattaya Secrets , Dec 2006: Extortionate Beer
A bottle of Heineken is 280 baht - even more expensive than a Bacardi Breezer at 200 baht. When I questioned the Manager about the price she claimed the inflated beer price was for the 'excellent' live music one can experience in their
establishment. If you are ordering a beer in Hard Rock, stick to the Singha which is priced at 130 baht

If you would like a comfortable bar to escape the madness of soi 8 I find ILE a Finnish bar across from the Sunshine hotel a perfect place to relax. The padded couches surrounded by fans keeping one cool is perfect for taking a well

September 2009: Singing the praise I just thought I would take the time and trouble to sing the praises of a small beer bar on soi 7. Did we have some fun with Na, the owner/manager and her lovely girls.
The
drinks were flowing, the girls were dancing and they weren't shy, not in the slightest. I would recommend to anyone whose looking for an inexpensive good night out surrounded with really fun, attractive girls.

The prices were very reasonable and the girls chatty and not pushy. The owner or mamasun was celebrating her sons birthday and he cut his cake while I was there and I was offered a piece. By then I felt like one of the family and my whole visit to the

well but they are great fun and are not to pushy for drinks and bar fines. The normal games are played and also has a few pool tables which are very good for Pattaya. The WC is clean and FREE. They have live music which is a relief from my normal
watering holes on Soi7/8.The band play a wide range of stuff and one can still hear yourself speak when they are playing. All in all a good bar to start or end the night

the bar seemed well stocked with pretty girls. Presumably they will get depleted rapidly as the night rolls on. Possibly the 'Premier' is a reference to the Premier League, particularly as the bar was showing an Everton match when I visited. I
have a feeling that any fan would prefer to listen to the commentary though, which was pretty nigh on impossible. A band playing Shadows numbers seemed to be top of the cacophony table. |

Sailor Bar Pattaya Soi 8 (Beach end) Beer bar & restaurant. Continuing and expanding in June 2023. Note, May
2014: Prices Bottled beer at 55 Baht for Tiger
Review from Andrew, January 2012: Go Easy on the Mai Tai I'm in the oil game, 4 on, 4 off, guess where I spend my 4 off ? I've
been using the Sailor Bar Soi 8, must be coming on 4 years. Its got to be one of the cheapest bars in Pattaya. There is a little restaurant at the back I use it a lot, especially if I am entertaining a little Thai number. There are some girls that
are very nice, I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I usually drink in here as my first stop of the night, great meet place, its handy for Soi 7/8 and Walking Street. The beer is cheap, but I'm a big fan of the cocktails, the Mia Tia is
well recommended. The Mamasam is a big bird that never smiles, the same as a lot of the staff. But on the plus side, if you want cheap drink, and cheap acceptable food, this is the place to be. Oh big word of warning, go easy on the
Mai Tai, 2 max or you will be having an early bed and waking up the next morning saying, WHAT HAPPENED DARLING... So you've been warned...
Review from Pattaya

Review from
Pattaya Secrets . Nov 2007: Cheap Some of the cheapest drinks in Pattaya and particularly noted as an afternoon bar. The food is noted as good value also.
The girls were less noteworthy though as comments ranged from 'no smiles', to 'no go'. But as expected there are a few hansum men who found otherwise
Review from
Pattaya Addicts , June 2007: Favourite When just relaxing and not in major hunting mode I like the Sailor Bar on Soi 8. Cheap drinks all day - beers
40 -45 baht, all other drinks and cocktails no more than 60-65 baht. Food pretty good. The odd looker or 2 working there. No hustle or hassle.

Bottled beer at 50 Baht for Tiger during Happy Hour and 55 Baht later
Review from Pattaya Chat, May 2006: Sanuck I've tended to use "We are the World Bar" as somewhere to go with a
girl on the way back to hotel, the live music does make a big difference and I think that it is that that attracts many. The beer is also fairly cheap and it's a very laid back and friendly place; I've had much sanuck with the staff there. You
don't get much hassles for lady drinks either but company is immediately available if you want it. Can also get food right outside from the passing Beach Road travelling caterers and the staff don't mind you eating in the bar, though it's even
better to share some with them
December 2005: Cheap beer and some decent looking girls at night. The daytime crew leaves a bit to be desired in the looks department, but sanuk mak at night.
November 2005:
Managed by Tian. He also runs the Eagle Bar, the World Wide A GoGo and the World Wide Bar. A nice bar to take a Thai girl as they love to watch rather than just listen and the music there is not bad, with 3 good singers. All serve 50 baht Hieneken

Notes | Pattaya bars most likely to be listed are those that occupy a permanent looking standalone building. Beer bars in complexes will not be
listed unless mentioned in dispatches. Gay/Thai/Karaoke bars are not listed due to a lack of expertise in those areas. Gogo bars are listed on a separate page. I have added food reviews but this is not a comprehensive service. I will only list eateries
where people have submitted comments
The following reviews are those that I come across on the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own visits. Reviewers may be unreasonably harsh and bar owners may present a
rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at face value...go and see for yourself. Click on the street name to obtain a map of the bar area. Previously the notes included guidelines on barfines and asking prices but in
recent times these have become less standardised and at the top end it is now more or a less an unbounded negotiation. And a couple of words of warning:
In short time rooms...keep an eye on your wallet to ensure that it stays with you long time. To those with Thai wives, be aware of the motor cycle taxi network used to keep tabs on errant husbands.
If anyone would like to add a review or information please email Dave at [email protected]
